To the German Friends of Tel Aviv Museum of Art
Letter from Prof. Mordechai Omer,
Director and Chief Curator
Dear Friends,
It is a pleasure and a great honor for me to congratulate the new Board and members of the German Friends of the Tel Aviv Museum of Art (TAMAD). Since its founding in 1932, the mission of the Tel Aviv Museum of Art has been to build bridges between art and society. Activities such as ongoing development of the collections and temporary exhibitions, extensive research and publication of catalogs and pamphlets, lecture symposia, music and other interdisciplinary programs have contributed to this mission as well as brought the Museum to its contemporary position as the leading museum of art in Israel. The Museum consistently strives to enrich the public’s appreciation of the value of art. This goal is achieved in close cooperation with many international institutions and extends far beyond the aesthetic perception of art to include exploration of social and ethical issues. The German Friends of Tel Aviv Museum of Art have been instrumental in helping the Museum carry out its mission through support of the project The Art Road to Peace. This project employs art as a mediation tool between Israeli societies in conflict. The Tel Aviv Museum of Art ensures that all donations from our German Friends go directly to support The Art Road to Peace project.
The Museum is proud of its association with TAMAD and looks forward to deepening our creative cooperation in the future.
Yours faithfully,

Prof. Mordechai Omer,
